Online purchase - no money taken nor authorisation done.

Hi

Yesterday I ordered a new footie shirt from sportsdirect.com I paid online with my LloydsTSB debit card.

The item has been dispatched and is out for delivery with DHL yet no money has been taken nor has an autorisation been done for the amount (£45.99) on my account.

Has anyone else had this with sportsdirect.com?

I am assuming the money will go out at some point but I am surprised no authorisation for the amount has been done.

  • Update:-

Goods arrived no money taken and no pre authorisation done.

    Maybe a freebie?
  • Just checked my verified by visa receipts online and it's showing there - strange!
  • Glad you had that conversation? :rotfl:

I paid my dogs vets bills 2 months ago and that still hasnt been taken out of my account, not all transactions are instant but be assured it will come out at some point. Make sure you keep that amount in your account for when they ask for it.

If you have e-banking the available funds usually differ from the current balance if you've purchased something by card.

Say you had £50 in your account and spent £20 on the card, the totals would read as follows (assuming the transactions is not instantly debited)

    Current balance: £50
    Available balance: £30
  • Hi

I am fully aware of that - the difference between the balance and available balance is £32 and accounted for already, total amount of order was £46.99

They have not authorised the amount or collected the amount as yet.
  • Online banking says yes - money taken - still suprised at the no auth!!
