I can do the lifting bit, its the stiring part that bothers me. The stew is at the top of the SC and its going to require some precision stirring. I just dont feel up to that yet. Maybe after this coffee and a rest!SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0 -

I'm hungry and 12 miles away. What time's lunch? :whistle:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

You never miss a trick, do you Mrbadexample?
I hope HappyIdiotTalk is OK after his lunch - it has gone ominously quiet since lunchtime.0 -
Still alive!
Sorry MBE, didn't see your request until now. Bit late now, mebbe next time.
Well how was it I hear you ask. Not bad, quite enjoyed it, even though the dumplings were a bit of a disaster. Had to use some mystery flour as I couldnt find any SR. Left em in for a good 35 minutes but there were still a little on the doughy side. The stew was quite good, but the meat was still a little... not tough or chewy, but not as meltingly tasty gorgeous as I'd imagined it was going to be. I'm putting this down to 2 things. 1) The beef was quite lean and had no fat running through it. 2) I didn't cook it on high for long enough.
So all in all I give it a 6.5 out of 10. That said it was that easy, I'm going to make it again next weekend and see if I can improve it. Cheaper cuts of meat for one, more Becks.. or ale this time. One more Oxo cube... Maybe some frozen spinach and peas... Yum!SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Mystery flour? :rotfl: I've never used that. Where did you buy it? :whistle:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
