Hi Donnie - I've sent you a private message

As its running fine at the moment using the Fujitsu disc we were planning to wait until the 30 days were up and then try the key
I have no idea why you would do that, your key is tied to your computer hardware profile and that has not changed (limited changes are even allowed)
you will not do anything to 'invalidate' your key by putting it in and if you need to phone up so long as you tell microsoft what you have told us you will be fine (ie original machine with COA sticker on, lost original OEM install disk but using a borrowed one).
feel free to spend money doing other things in the meantime if you like.
also be aware if you have not been able to run windows update to install the latest service packs and security features (requires key to be entered) you will be EXTREMLY vulnerable to viruses and malware exploiting a a range of unpatched security holes in windows you will not be able to do anything about.
if you do not put the key in and update windows with security patches I'd STRONGLY suggest you not use it connected to the internet (expect it to last a very short space of time before infection) or plug any USB sticks etc into it to copy anything on/off of it.
basically don't use it.0 -
Thanks Donnie, my ds has done everything as per your pm and my laptop is up and running beautifully. Thanks for all your help and thanks to everyone else for their suggestions, help and advice.
