Money in PayPal in $$

I have received money into my PayPal account in £ and also $. The total amount in my account is shown in £ but is the total of the two currencies combined.

When I try to buy something though and want to use my balance to pay for it, it uses the £ balance and then charges the rest to my debit card or bank account but won't use the $ balance.

Is there any way I can 'convert' the $ balance to usable money or do I have to withdraw it to my bank account?

I have spent ages trawling through what PayPal laughingly refer to as 'help' pages... :mad:

If you buy something from the US you can use the $$ otherwise just check on the dollar/pound exchange rate to be on the up and withdraw it to your bank.

You can also just change the dollars into pounds on your account

I have just seen how to do it - 'currency converter' were the magic words on the home page.
