Can any one valuate this for me :( Beatles fans would be nice :P

I have a newspaper (Liverpool Eco) dated from 09/12/1980, of course this is the day after john Lennon died.

The edition covers full story's of the john Lennon shooting.

Its in pristine condition in an air tight plastic casing, i have had it for years and its only been out once :P.

I thought it was worthless untill i came across this :

The same paper only dated 2 (TWO) days after the shooting ( baring in mind mine is one day after the sooting) Is selling for £180.

Any idea if mine is worth anything?
Surly a newspaper the day after the shooting is worth more than the same paper 2 days after the shooting?

Your best bet is to contact a bricks a mortar auction house who specialise in Pop memorabilia and see what they say.
  • You could contact the Beatles Shop in Liverpool on Matthew Street, as they help organise auctions during the Matthew Street Festival in the summer.

I bought the same item for £6 a few years ago for a present
  • You could always contact the website you quoted in your first post and see if they might be interested. They say they're originals not copies so they must get their stock from somewhere.

It is on sale for that price not selling at that price..big difference. If I told you I had one for sale for £1million would you think yours was worth that? Best try and find what price one has actually sold for rather than what a dealer is asking for one.

Personally I would sell it now, I'm not sure their popularity is going up, as we all get older and older I reckon they might become 'who?' in a few more years.

My teenage sons have barely heard of them at all, and that's your next generation of potential buyers.

    Alas yes.

Strangely enough though they could name quite a few Elvis songs..but the Beatles are a mystery to them.
