game problem

in Techie Stuff
hi guys when i play half life,after about ten mins the game closes and i get this message

engine error
internal driver error in idirect 3ddevice9::present()
i've tired to look for directx test programme to fined the problem but i cant find it :confused: can someone help cos need to play this as there is nowt on telly tonite:D

    Start --> Run, type in dxdiag and go to the 'Display' tab. You can run the tests there.

    Did you get this sorted? Maybe you could try reinstalling DX or updating it. Reinstall HL2. What video card have you got? Turn down the in game video options down to the lowest settings and see what happens then.

    hi moneyuser still got this problem have updated dx my Video Card is Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 just had a look at steam web site says try use a older version of dx
    i need a new pc lol the wife will not let me :-(
