Deleting my Halifax a/c

Hello all,
Advice required please - my situation is this, Over the course of the past few weeks i have been into my local Halifax branch to close my basic current a/c with them. The account has never been my main account, I mainly used it to transfer money into, in order to then pay off my Halifax credit card. Both the current a/c and credit card have zero balances on them, and have been at zero for a number of months. I operated the a/c's using internet banking.
On internet banking, the current a/c details are still visible, however it is stated as being closed. I have also closed the credit card a number of months ago and received confirmation via the post. I have clicked on the option to remove the a/c's, therefore 'my account' page shows no a/c's.
My concern is this - If i now have no a/c's with Halifax bank, why can i still access my internet banking?
I contacted their customer service team and they advised that if i want to suspend the internet banking facility - They can do it over the phone, or I can delibrately enter the wrong access details three times which will suspend the facility.
What they will not do, is what i want, for my internet banking facility to deleted. I no longer wish to have any dealing's with Halifax, but i presume as i have internet banking access with them - they still hold all my details on file.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm you seem to think all your details are being deleted completely which isn't the case all records stay on file for like 6 years or so. So having the online banking disbaled etc would make no difference.0

/Thanks for the response Pcombo,
Understand Halifax will keep my details on file for a 6 year period, no problem with that, my concern is this - In the past as soon as i have closed up all a/c's with bank, the bank see no reason to have access to internet banking and deletes my access. Halifax have completely the opposite view - I closed all my a/c's with them, yet they insist my internet banking facility remains open.
They have offered to suspend or block the internet banking facility, but refuse to delete it. They reasoning for this when speaking to there customer service team is 'We keep it open, in case you decide to open a new a/c in the future' - I have explained to them i have no intention of opening a new a/c and for peace of mind would like the facility deleted.0 -
The Halifax are giving away free money if you have the wit to benefit from them. I can see long forgotten credit card accounts when I log in. They just elongate the page layout.

You can easily delete them from online banking - just click Preferences, and then Add/Remove Account.0
