I'm going to check my bandwidth used ... and see if I can risk watching one programme on 4OD this month without using up my bandwidth.

The trouble with that telly stuff is they don't tell you how much bandwidth it'll use up to watch it, so I never dare

Damn... forgot, I have no speakers :(

Looked at bandwidth, only used 4GB/15GB this month and still another 13 days to go to the next allocation, so I figured I'd got enough, went to launch 4OD and remembered .... no speakers.

I've got a laptop with built-in speakers, but it's too late to have that on, I'd get into trouble. I'll try to remember to watch it tomorrow, during the hours of daylight.

Not got any headphones - even a very basic set?

I'm not going to watch the prog, but recall a while back there was a little bit of controversy when a TV prog was based on celebs cooking meals at their homes.... and it was proven that in at least one instance it wasn't the celeb's home. Some rented or borrowed house for the show.

It would be much more controversial if something like this prog, with real focus on property development, was all just rigged up with actors to try and make an interesting TV show.

The thread in question that I linked to above started with a discussion about how 'fake' the programme was and how facts didn't stack up .... and then the owner of the house turned up in the thread and said "it's real, we're not actors".... but it was late so not many people about to see....

It’s cheap television, precisely what the channels want to pump out to fill the airtime. To be fair, no one presents it as Oscar winning stuff.

If you watched it you count in the viewing figures that the channel show to potential advertisers.

There’s just SO MUCH dross on now: Cops With Cameras, Helicopter Heroes, People Do Funny Things, Animals Do Funny Things, Jeremy Kyle…

It’s great really, as it’s now incredibly easy to switch off and have a life. I remember the days when you’d wish you had a bank of VCRs cos telly was first-rate…
