Elephant.co.uk - Hire Car Cover

Started cover with these donkeys 2 months ago. Within 3 weeks they had added Hire Car cover to my policy and charged me without my consent.
I then complained and was astounded when they decided to cancel my policy.
I chose elephant.co.uk based on price, I shouldn't have.
As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for". Don't expect a quality service from elephant.co.uk. Shocking definition of service and they wouldn't know the meaning of the word 'quality'.

if you feel you have been treated unfairly then they have a complaints procedure and the FOS as a regulator0

Is it really in a companies best interest to try add on cover and see if they can get away with it, probably what happened was they rang you, asked if you wanted it, it was a misheard yes or no and they went ahead... I've never come across a company just adding it to someones policy without ever speaking to you and then charging you for it ..0 -

Or they have sales staff who ring after a policy has been sold to sell additional covers. It is not unheard of for these type of sales staff to add covers on to get their commission0 -
Elephant do do this and I have made it clear I do not want extras on each occasion. Car hire is included anyway so long as you use an Elephant authorised repairer. So far I have never been charged for any unwanted extras. It is an annoying practice though and one I have complained about to them.
What reason did they give for cancelling your policy? If it is unfair, complain to the FSA (used to be insurance ombudsman)0 -

What a muppet! You've come across it now!
How long have you worked for elephant? You at least must work in sales if you're backing up this type of 'selling'.
