Car Needed - Do I buy, hire or lease? HELP!!

Mmmmm. Due to financial restraints I have had to buy "runarounds" for the past year or so. After the THIRD, yes THIRD car due to be scrapped in 9 months due to repair costs, something has to give. But what are my options or nearer to the truth what are my BEST options? I have no savings at the moment and the amount I owe in debt is manageable but I don't want to add to it if I can prevent it. Worse case scenario is £150 p/m. The car IS a neccessity for us due to mine and my wife's shift patterns and we have a young family.
