My OH's PC has locked up and appears to have a virus - it is taking him to a white screen that is asking for $89 to buy him out of it!!!

It seems to be called My Security Shield and appear to be eating files - more are becoming infected each time he tries to do any thing :eek::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

if you cannot get that to run then download this on another PC

and then run on sons laptop (after updating it)

Try and get malwarebytes antimalware to run -start in safe mode with networking try and install via usb if you can't get internet.
Next I would get and try to run combofix.

OK, tried Superantispyware first which hasn't fixed it, now trying hippo.
Having to download them on my Mac and then copy to a memory stick and hand to him.....:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Now on the Malewarebytes one, fingers crossed, it looks OK so far:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
