Does this mean anything to anyone?

My OH's PC has locked up and appears to have a virus - it is taking him to a white screen that is asking for $89 to buy him out of it!!!

It seems to be called My Security Shield and appear to be eating files - more are becoming infected each time he tries to do any thing :eek:

if you cannot get that to run then download this on another PC

and then run on sons laptop (after updating it)

then retry malwarebytes and post the log file it produces

post any malwarebytes log files you get

need to see them to know if we need to run combofix

Try and get malwarebytes antimalware to run -start in safe mode with networking try and install via usb if you can't get internet.
Next I would get and try to run combofix.

edit -wow must type faster!

OK, tried Superantispyware first which hasn't fixed it, now trying hippo.

Having to download them on my Mac and then copy to a memory stick and hand to him.....

He managed to sort it out using the information you supplied and was back to business as usual at 2.20am this morning.
