If it's convenient for you then Air Asia from Stansted to KL then KL to BKK. If not, have a look at kayak, Expedia, Opodo etc and at the airlines own web sites. Give us an idea of where you intend to stay in Thailand (if you know yet) or your likes and dislikes and also have a look about this site - there's several threads on Thailand.0

Cheapest way to get there is to walk - leave now and you might make it in time for February 2011.
Cheapest place to stay is on the street in a cardboard box.

!!!!!! indeed?
Anyway, at the moment, Air Asia is £199 one way to KL, so £398 return. Then you have the baggage, food (if you want) and the flights Bangkok to KL (which should be cheap) - but as they don't do connecting flights you'll have to overnight in KL, so budget all that in. Kayak is showing £484 many dates in Feb on Air India. I'm sure you could shave a bit off that.
Alternatively, for around £450, book to Bangkok with Etihad, Kingfisher, Oman Air, Jet with all the above included. I know EVA has some sale fares for around £480 direct (but unsure if dates match).0 -
I go to BKK reguarly and always go on one of the Middle Eastern carriers (Emirates, Eithiad, Gulf etc). Not only is it much cheaper than flying direct but it's nice to be able to stretch your legs at the half way mark. All of the Gulf carriers are excellent. I'm not sure I'd fancy doing the trip on Air India.
Of those flying direct, EVA is usually the best bet.0 -
You would be hard pressed to beat the EVA fare for direct and even comparing it to indirect it stacks up well.
1/02/2011 - 01/03/2011
Jet (with only short stopovers 1hr 20ish each way) £479.97 inc.
Gulf (6hrs 20 stop out and 2hr 20 back) £478.57 return 28/02 as no service 01/03.
Eva £504.57.
Thai Airways prices dont seem very competitive at the moment.
With flights into India that connect with an onward flight, passengers now have to reclaim their baggage at first point of entry, just like the good old USA, this is a very recent change so factor that into you decision.
You may pay £20 -£30 more when booking via opodo etc.
Do a seach on here regards info on Thailand, there is a lot...0 -
There are also some indirect flights to Phucket HKT that can be good.
Be careful with Qatar Airways connection times, sometimes they can be very short and it is highly likely that you'd miss the connection.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
