Astra 1.3cdti problems, noises smoke etc

Hi.

Can anyone help please.

I have got a 2006 astra 1.3cdti estate. When in first gear and puling off the car makes a funny noise, hard to describe really but sort of a whining noise. Only ever when in gear and never in neutral revving, idling etc. Also makes the same noise gearing down from 3rd to second. I'm guessing this is gearbox related. My mechanic had a look and told me that the gearbox oil was all correct and filled to the right level so I'm stuck for ideas before it goes to a G?B specialist as he suggests.

Also there is another different noise when over 2000 rpm, kind of a whooshing/chaffing noise but sounds like its coming from the middle or passenger side front of the car. There is also quite a bit of black smoke when you get over 2000 rpm with your foot down (again only when moving). I didnt take it over 70 mph but tbh it didnt feel like it wanted too either...

Is this my turbo starting to go?

dont assume gearbox is at fault,it could be DMF failing.

as for smoke it could be turbo but it could also be a number of other problems like EGR,MAF of a manifold leak.

i would suggest getting the car looked at by a decent tech to diagnose as it is impossible to diagnose over tinternet all that can be done is to speculate on the cause.
