There is software that can generate valid CC numbers that use the same algorithm for generating numbers the CC companies use.God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -
my tesco cc has an additional password that only i know that has to be used at the end of any internet transaction so it means that no one else can use my card online, they should all be like that.0

Is this right.........
If one of the transactions was an 02 £15... that means they used the details to top up their phone over their phone... in order to do this you need the card holders post code numbers ... so there for this would eliminate that the fraud was in a shop or cash machine as you wouldnt get these details that way... right?0 -
Why would this 'jobless' fraudster be more likely to be from Manchester?!
The card would need to be registered to your address in order to top up the phone - how would they have got hold of these details..?
Could be internal fraud at 02... your bank.... This has happened to me a couple of times and both times it was someone hacking into my wireless internet connection. I actually caught them once when I was off work sat in a car outside my house with a laptop! Unbelievable!0 -

Someone may be using your unprotected wireless internet connection, but to get your credit card details, you must be; leaving your computer switched on, sharing out your drive(s) and store all your credit card details in documents. Or you have an infected computer that is logging your keystrokes.
You may want to worry more about the types of sites people using your unprotected wireless sites could be visiting or uploading to. Because they'll get traced back through the ISP to you.0 -

One reason i can see is that if somthing goes wrong its not your bank acount at risk as such with real money in.
Sect 75 of the CCA applies as well.0
