moving in with mum on pension credits

When my tenancy ends I plan to move back in with my mum. I'll prob be on income support at that point due to pregnancy & I'm wondering how much rent/council tax I'll have to pay on her property. At present it's covered by housing & council tax benefit as she's on guaranteed pension credit.

Also when I've had the baby & claim child benefit & tax credits, will I have to pay much more?

Sorry for the questions, I just want to work out my budget before I move back home.

Thanks

How old are you? If under 25 and on Income Support her HB / CTB* will be unaffected, if 25+ then her HB will be reduced by £7.40 per week after 26 weeks, her CTB* will be unaffected (*edit: it used to be £2.30 per week, it appears to have changed to nil but I can't find any official confirmation of this).

Child Benefit and Child Tax Credits will have no effect on any reduction, the guiding benefit is Income Support.
  • Thank you.

I'm over 25 so it looks like 7.40, which is still alot less than I thought.
  • You may also want to consider if the amount of Pension Credit your mother gets will be effected? If she is currently living on her own and getting an extra amount for disability your moving in could alter the amount she gets paid.

If she is claiming 25% council tax discount, she will lose this also, she needs to contact the council when you do.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Thiswould only apply if she is getting Attendance Allowance or Disability living Allowance-Care at Middle or Higher rate.
