Named driver on a disability car question

Hey there, im currently a named driver on my grandfathers disability car, does anyone know if i can insure my own car with the same insurer getting a discount becuase of this, or if it will affect my premium for other insurers, looking for ways to save money as my car insurence went from £260 to £640 this year for no reason :mad: Thats with seven years no claims on a 1.4 focus, and thats best price after doing about 40 quotes directly and using price comparision sites.

You're best phoning companies direct. I know Direct Line do a matching policy where you don't get awarded NCB but instead get a discount eqiuvalent to the percentage you'd have got with NCB.

£640 was with direct line, just phoned them up but best they would do was match the online price after initialy quoting me £680

Something must have caused a higher premium, They went up this year but not that much.

One wonders why you didn't just ring RSA for a quote in the first place?

I tried phoning them earlyier in the day but couldnt get through, will try again tommorow.
