wrong amount on annual declaration HELP!

I done my annual declaration over the phone as I do every year and received all my paperwork with final amounts for last year and amounts for 2010/2011, however after talking toa colleague I realised I had made a huge mistake and I had given them my gross amount when I should of given them my net amount as i am self employed.
I rang beginning of august and explained this, and they said theyd pass it to the relevant department and it would take 6 weeks maximum to sort out.
I am still waiting to hear anything from them, does anyone know what will happen with this, will I get a back payment of what I was short paid last year and then an amended award notice for 2010/2011, they dont seem to be able to tell me anything when I ring as it has been passed to a different department?
Thanks

  • If the previous year award has been finalised it would be passed to TCO to look to adjust it based on the new details given. It can take some time, but you can call to have it chased up if outside the time scale given with no update. Your previous year entitlement may be altered and an additional one-off payment made for that amount if entitled. For the current year, the entitlement may not be altered with any underpayment left as potential amounts, to be decided at the end of the year once the award is finalised again, not always, but sometimes.
