New tyres for a Rover 25

Hi All,
Can't seem to find anything on here. I have just started driving and need to buy new tyres for my Rover 25 in time for MOT on Saturday. I believe the spec I need is (185/55R 15)

I was thinking of going to kwik-fit, but there seem to be loads of bad experiences from people.
can anyone recommend where to go for cheap tyres? I live in the Ilford area.

  • try tyre land something sounds like that. they start from £30 a corner. Can I refer you over to here for further specialist advise?

    Thanks,
Don't really need Rover specific info. Just wondering where people have found the best deals for tyres.

Look at online tyre dealers or find a local tyre dealer that's not part of a national chain.

My car has large tyre's 215/55/R16, they cost a fortune.

Budget tyre's at Kwik fit and such would set me back £65-£80 each.
Same at a local dealer £50 each.

Bridgestone's at Kwik fit and such would set me back £140 each.
I get Bridgestone's (premium tyre's) for £92 each at the local tyre dealer.

I used Blackcircles as my (only) tyre supplier for ages and now find their prices have drifted quite a bit. Like for like tyres (supplied, new valve, balance, fitted and old tyre disposed) are now cheaper at all my local places, even KwikFit!
  • 185/55/15 H Fully Fitted tyres
Kwik Fit cheapest £61.99 online £87 offline
    Blackcircles.com cheapest £44.51 online
    Tyreshopper cheapest £44.20 online
    Valuetyres cheapest £44.75 online

These are prices of cheapest tyres - note that KF's is a Uniroyal others are budget. However you'll get a bigger brand at one of the online boys for the same price as KF's cheapest. If you are not sure what to buy try calling the online boys - usually very helpful.
  • There is a firm near me who does part worns.

£30 a corner for Michellin Premacy with 6mm on them, yes please.

    Regards,
    Andy
