Self Employment and Benefits

Ive recently started claiming hb and council tax credit, due to my partner leaving.
A family member who lives abroad has offered me 16 hours a week doing part time admin work for them ( they work abroad and can not access the internet,so will be doing their emails, invoices, etc) from home. (looking to start 1st oct)
I would love to be able to do it and have checked with hb people and they say its fine, but as I've agreed to work for a set amount a week £75.00 ( as no travel etc expense), it looks like i work below the minimum wage. Will i still be entitled to get working tax credit and what figure do i give them as income - £75 per week x number of weeks until 5th april? I did try talking to them, but wouldnt advise until I took up the self employment.
I know i would have to notify tax man too, and complete self assessment, but i think i would be below tax threasehold. Anyone else who id have to notify?

If your single and no children you have to work 30hours per week to get working tax credits.0

If you already have ctc in payment, call to update a change of circumstances, and advise you have started S/E from the relevant date at 16hrs pw. You will be asked for your UTR, which is issued once you register as S/E, which you can do by telephone, email or in writing, details http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/selfemployed/iwtregister-as-self-employed.htm. You don't need the UTR immediately, but should provide it when you have it. Your current year S/E estimate is your expected net profit for the year to 05-04-2011.0
