ING again?

When all the crises were happening I moved money out of ING and into secured 50K UK institutions.

There offer to come back at 2.75% for the next 10 months anyway seems tempting. Has anyone else moved bak or is it still best to stay with UK backed institutions?

TIA

Vigman

ING/The dutch compensation scheme is far better than the UK scheme with protection up to £92,000 so you should have no qualms about depositing money with them. ING are one of the top 12 financial houses in the world, anything's possible but in reality...............?

And also bear in mind that the Dutch Government now has a stakeholding in ING so would they really let it fail ?
  • I too moved out of ING, but only when the interest rate for the account I held dropped to a paltry figure. I did stay away for a while and then opened their 2.75% account until the introductory rate disappears. No doubt I'll then go elsewhere and return as a new customer if they are offering a good enough rate.
I don't have a large amount deposited but have no doubt that in the very unlikely event of a "collapse" I'll get it back eventually. Possibly after their Dutch customers!?
  • I cleaned out my account after a year's special offer. Then, as stated, they gave us all the limited offer back again - on a par with most competitors. I use them because i like (a) the monthly interest, and (b) their ultra quick faster payments.

Just a shame FP's are only inbound with outbound movements going via BACS, but it's one of the best rates around at the moment.

Not all of us, I've heard nothing from them!
