looking for a bit of genral advice.
Would 8 credit searches in the past year four being in the past 6 months severly effect my credit score in the long run? or is it mostly the past 6 months creditors look at and after that are they overlooked by creditors as such?

Are they full searches or ID verification searches ?

Assuming all full searches, the number may appear high, but it will depend on how strong your overall credit rating is. There's no hard and fast rule as to what's acceptable and what isn't as lenders view these things differently. You have less than one search per month whether looking at 6/12 months history. On that basis I wouldn't call it excessive, more average.

i have two which are i.d searches. one for car insurance and one from halifax checking my address. and the rest are full searches.
thankyou for the info. im just trying to get my credit rating the best as possible. i have four active credit acounts so far but only recent.
