Morning all,
Looking for single trip insurance for a week in Spain with my wife and two kids, all in good health. The price range is quite spectacular. Virgin seem to be offering me cover for £9.50. Does this seem overly cheap? What sort of things should I be looking for when I choose the cover?
Ta in advance,
Kev

£9.50 for the whole family for a trip to Spain is very cheap! The average price a full travel policy would be £35 to £40. You sure it wasn't £9.50 per person? If the premium is correct I would check what the cover includes. Its quite possible its only covering medical expenses and not your baggage.

Personal Liability : £1,000,000 Medical Expenses : £10,000,000 Baggage : £1,500 Cancellation : £3,000 Total Policy Price : £8.65
The policy covers the above and you can see the price. I am unsure though, it does seem very cheap. Found using moneysupermarket and the policy is called IWE Bronze Single Trip with InsureWithEase.
Thoughts?

I had a quick on moneysupermarket and the policy you are reffering to has a £200 excess on baggage and a £250 on medical. This is why the policy is cheap. Policy excess with the likes of Fortis, Direct Line, AXA etc is normally £35 to £50.
£250 on medical is steep. Imagine if one of your family is ill on holiday and has to pay for treatment from a private doctor. If the treatment was say £300 you would only get £50 back. Quite an expense on top of your holiday.
Personally I'd prefer to pay a little extra and get a policy with a lower excess.I am an Insurance & Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
