Ipod - Just how much abuse can it take?

Dropped my Ipod onto my floor last night - no need to worry as it was only about 1 foot and onto soft carpet. It also has the leatherette pouch on and doesn't seem to have affected the sound at all. Just wondering though - they have always seemed very delicate and I wouldn't imagine it would take much to do some real damage. Anyone got any more on this?

Well for what it's worth, I've dropped mine in the kitchen once onto a hard tiled surface and it was fine, not even a scratch not on purpose btw

They can take a real beating, but one day you will drop a tea spoon on it and it will break.

They are made of delicate moving components so try and be careful.

If its an ipod shuffle, they have no moving components and be be dropped thrown and will still work. But they dont look as good when they are scratched.

i've dropped mine on the tube a couple of times and its been fine. However, I dont suggest putting it through the washing machine. I did that once and, well, it broke but, Apple was kind enough to replace it :beer:
