It's best booking separately or using a site like Expedia/Thomas Cook who package a flight and hotel. Often the latter gets you a discount on the hotel.

I find its always cheaper to book flights and hotel seperately when I'm not doing the 7/14 day package.

Look at the usual Easyjet/Ryanair also flight only with main T/A

Then for peace of mind I book hotel only with Thomson/Thomas Cook/First choice
Or use hotels4u/ holidayhotels (both owned by thomas cook)

You cant really go wrong. Put the money you saved in an emergency fund just incase. Get Travel insurance as soon as you have booked.

Most tour operators have 3,4,5,6 night durations when they are trying to fill flights up not just 7 or 14 but it depends if the dates fall right for when you want to go. Thomas cook use flexibletrips.com to package together flights, hotels and transfers or Netflights these are atol and abta protected.
