Bus Lane - You should have crashed

I think the fact they may have been too close to the person in front is pretty irrelevant. It still means (or even more so) they had to swerve to avoid an accident and so is a perfectly legitimate defence. I doubt the police will then come back and press charges for driving without due care & attention to be honest, even if that is what the person is guilty of.matched betting: £879.63

we still haven't ascertained why the car in front had to stop0

i suppose it could depend on the Law Lords ruling on whether the swerve in to a bus lane to avoid an accident entails the same manouvere as turning into the bus lane to avoid waiting behind a car turning right. i believe the Law Lords ruling has been prioritised above their expected judgement on the legality of the Iraq war.0

Much later I received a notice from the Transport for London about my car being caught on camera driving in a bau lane I wrote to the office and explained what had happened.
However, according to the Traffice Enforcement Notice this is STILL no reason to move into a bus lane during operation times. So in effect the company is saying that I should have taken my chances and CRASHED INTO the car in front. The department has given me 28 days to pay £50.00 or wait until the fine is £100 and then write in an appeal.
or when traffic circumstances dictate this (roadworks/broken down vehicle etc.)
Ask to view the TFL video and persevere with your appeals.
If necessary appeal to the Parking & Traffic Appeals Service (PATAS) who will
deal with your appeal properly & review all evidence.
You can appeal to PATAS after TFL have rejected your initial appeals.

I had a bus lane fine (from Camden council though, not TfL) overturned by writing a letter pointing out that the bus lane sign provided inadequate time to get out of the lane without colliding with a traffic island.0
