Purchasing Sovereign Debt

Can anyone recommend either a decent broker or a fund that invests in sovereign debt?
I'm interested in investing in UK Treasury Gilts plus foreign sovereign debt but I'm not really sure where to start.
I suppose what I'm looking for is a broker that could act for me and purchase - as an example - £1000 of German Government 5yr bonds.

There are hundreds of funds that invest in sovereign debt. For example:
UK Gilt sector on Trustnet
Global Bond sector on Trustnet
Brokers like TD Waterhouse can be used to buy UK Gilts but I'm not sure if they deal with German government bonds etc. Incidentally, the yields on these bonds are very low at the moment, do you think they are going to get lower?0 -
Thanks for the links.
I'm interested in tracking prices over the next few months to see where things will go.
I'm probably not going to be in a position to invest until next year, and by that time there might be a bit more clarity on whether Greece will default on it's debt or not.
The German government is in quite deep there...0 -
And the yield would have changed to reflect the newsFiddlestick wrote: »I'm probably not going to be in a position to invest until next year, and by that time there might be a bit more clarity on whether Greece will default on it's debt or not.
