Hello Di and all....
I checked the tracking number on the receipt online at the royal mail website. It returned a message saying item is currently within our system awaiting delivery.
This was posted on 7th october!!
So i phoned Royal Mail and was told by an advisor that if you get that message after this length of time then it is lost.
She said there is nothing they can do but send me a form for compensation.
So a new questionnaire was sent this afternoon again recorded delivery.
I await the response, would be nice for a positive result just before Xmas.0 -

UPDATE!!!!
Had a reply from Barclays today. As it is a secured loan they have forwarded the details on to Firstplus.
I did not even know that Firstplus were involved.
So i have searched the forum relating to firstplus and the good news is it looks that others with the same policy as me (where after 5years you can claim back the premium money)have had success in claiming back, and 99% of claims are won against FP.
I am a bit confused though as some posts state as to who is at fault -the broker (i take it as Barclays ?) or First plus. Who should i claim against.
I suppose i wait until contact from Firstplus to see what they are proposing.
Fingers still crossed !!0 -
Are you sure it was not a fp loan in the beginning? fp are an umbrellaUPDATE!!!!

company of barclays, it may be that barclays sent your loan application to fp?. If a broker was involved, ie a 3rd party then if fp say no, you go for the broker, as they were the ones who sold you the ppi.If you win mis sell then you get the 2 years ppi monthly amounts back with interest, less the rebate they gave you for the ppi when you settled the loan.0 -
NO i thought i was dealing with Barclays all along. The paperwork was all Barclays, in a glossy barclays folder. If i win mis-selling should i not get the whole premium back, as i paid it all off when i settled the loan early.0

If it was through barclays then you did not use a broker, that is good as you would have to chase the broker!.NO i thought i was dealing with Barclays all along. Have you got the settlement figure breakdown?, you need to see what ppi they gave you back as a rebate, if you post up the original ppi total amount and the rebate you got for this when you settled, the ppi monthly amount and the months you paid this, i am sure one of our guys or gals who are good with these workings out will take a look at this for you.
You do not get the whole ppi amount back as with the rebate you got on settlement will be taken off this, plus when you had ppi your settlement would have reflected the ppi payments you made to date to reduce the balance, so as you were mis sold this ppi, that money is taken off as you shouldnt have had the loan reduced at settlement by this as you should not have had ppi, hope this makes sense!!
As i say post actual figures up and someone will give you an idea of what you will get back.0 -
Hi there, i have just looked at my settlement figure and it does not give the rebate applied for the ppi, you should ring barclays and ask what rebate they gave you for the ppi. When you know this, take this off your total ppi amount and then you will get a ballpark figure of how much that will be (i have to say they are not renowned for giving huge rebates of ppi!).0

ok, thanks for the info..i will look over the paperwork tonight.0

looked at my paperwork and the loan was with barclays and one letter states the insurance premium is paid up front and added to the loan amount. Insurance done by firstplus.
But the premium was paid up front and added on to the loan, so i would think its barclays who need to deal with this. Has any one had the same situation as this?
I am not sure where to go from here but obviously still awaiting firstplus response as barclays have passed the buck on to them.0
