Guys people in council flats do have jobs and do pay tax...not all people who live in council properties are chavs or sat at home unemployed and are living off benefits. Some of us do work and pay tax...didn't like the fact how some1 said our tax.
Once again to everyone who contributed thank you very much. :T0 -
A few years ago, i looked into rtb with the OH on my maisonette.
I was capped at 70%, and i was offered my place for 50k.
It didn't seem right that to build my place now it would of cost over 50k, some councils milk out what they can get. Location was what they were looking at.
But all the surcharges etc that went with it.. they were trying to get me to pay for all outside maintenance work on the whole block not just what would be my part.
plus an extra 8k a year charges, that if were not spent i would have given back.
With research they don't do much on the block as it was... it was too much to ask for in added costs.
Looking at my present home, brand new bungalow, it would be 65k - 68k for me to buy with my discount of 70% if i chose to buy it..
Having a good think about it.0
