Cleaning White Shirts

Well, is it possible ? I've tried everything to get out the graphite pencil marks from ds2's white school polo shirts. The tables at school are always covered in pencil and he leans across them and gets it all over his shirts
I've searched and searched the board. I've tried Aerial Bio with no luck at all, I've given them a really hot wash, I've tried vanish, what else can I do ?
Laundry is not my forte0 -
How about trying neat Stardrops or Napisan. Good luck.0

Thanks Organic wanabe, I've been meaning to get some Stardrops so will have a try.
No one else have any ideas ?0 -
I know hair spray gets rid of permanent ink. Doubt whether it will work with pencil's but worth a try
Also, have you tried an eraser? Silly i know, but it works on paper!0 -

:rotfl: That's what ds2 suggested, you know it's worth a try, thanks.0 -
How about using a nail brush brushed with soap against the grain of the marks. Next wash put on a 50degree wash rather than 40degree. HTH0

How about trying the old favourite. Seeing as its a white shirt I think bleach might be a good idea.0

Thanks for that MrsMondragon:) I'm a bit frightened of bleach - ruined too many coloured things with bleach splashes. The shirts have embroidered badges on them in green and red. How do I apply the bleach safely ? Sorry, my mum never used bleach so I'm not sure how to use it0 -
If youve got badges and have a very steady hand just put a bit of dilute bleach only on the stained area. You can wash it after maybe fifteen minutes. If the badges are near the stains then its best that you use ACE bleach. ACE isnt as good as the normal bleach, but its better than using soap powder alone.0
