Refund refusal

Hi,
Wondered if there was anyone that could ofer some advice.
I purchased a treadmill from an online store - no problems with them - but on delivery of said goods they were faulty and could not be used.
Following a 2 month battle with the manufacturers to get a repair they stated that they had to send a new treadmill. I took delivery of that this last weekend but they have delivered a completely different model.
I contacted the shop it was purchased from and eventually they agreed to refund. They said the manufacturers would be in touch to make collection.
I was contacted by the manufacturers yesterday who are refusing to collect and support a refund as they say they have delivered a model that was better than the one I initially ordered. Can they do this? I was under the impression that replacements had to be like for like?
I'd be greatful of any valuable information that would assist in the next conversation with them.
Many thanks

when they were first faulty how long before you discovered this0

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I found the fault 1 week after receving goods. When putting the treadmill together component parts were missing.0 -
If it was reported within 7 days the goods can be rejected under the distant selling regulation0

Just wondering why are you complaining if you have received a better treadmill?
If it was an inferior model, fair enough.0 -
If the model is a better one, then I'd just accept it, but make sure you have the warranty in place for that particular model.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks for responses.
The main reason I'm returning it is due to the really bad after sales support from the manufacturers. I haven't been able to find any information on the model which I've been sent and it's only at their word that it's an upgrade. It wasn't made any better when the shop I brought it from had never heard of the treadmill.
Hope that puts it into perspective.0
