Santander Access

After just under a fortnight I actually have full access to my account again.

I think the reason that things broke was they moved the A&L internet banking to the Santander version, I say this because transferring money has changed (odd that my first action after checking for random double direct debits and charges, was to start transferring my money out).

Actually in the end it was quite simple.
  1. Try and transfer your own money to another account and have your access blocked.
  2. Make phone call 1 and get assured it's all fixed - believe this lie and think well that wasn't so bad. Note: if your account was fixed please pinch self to wake up, alternatively start buying lottery tickets because your luck's in baby.
  3. Make call 2 and speak to miserable git, won't want to help - at least this one is honest.
  4. Make complaint on form, get no acknowledgement also laugh at fact even the error saying max 2000 characters is wrong actually 1980 ish.
  5. Call in person to bank with ID, speak to someone who'll say sorry about that all fixed now - this person is lying, but you only find that when you get home.
  6. Try to withdraw your own cash to make original payment (you can't actually get your own cash but only a max of £500)
  7. Another phone call and speak to 2 separate people. One that'll say don't log into your account for 7-10 days as new details are being sent out, the second will say all fixed. BOTH LIED!!!
  8. Make complaint number 2, including why not said anything about first one? Lose temper.
  9. Get back into MSE forum you've left too long before. Become one of many voices warning away from this unfunny joke of an outfit. And you're currently getting off quite lightly in comparison.
  10. Next day get a letter with acknowledgement about complaint 1, and realise that omg they are actually sending letters out rather than cheaper and more efficient text or email, both fields they demand you fill in on form!!! - at this point you need to laugh else your sanity is at stake.
  11. Randomly try to access your account, you've not heard anything but that's nothing new. Pinch self because it worked, say ow and realise you are awake!
  12. Plan your lottery numbers - retirement not far away with this luck :-)
  13. Stop the silly thoughts and transfer as much money as you can from your account, feel nervous because ... Isn't this how it started last time?"

And you're done.
Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.
