use for old fridge freezers

I seem to remember Bob Flowerdew grew melons outside in an old freezer...also he used them to store root crops in I think (unplugged!) in his shed.0

Bob Flowerdew stores crops in old freezers in his shed, I can't remember what exactly, but I just found a link where they mention apples and pears. I suspect it would be equally good for things like squash. You must pierce hole in the sides. I would thing the whole idea is to keep rodents off the crops and to stop any really cold weather affecting them.
No idea about growing stuff in them, I can't see why not.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
thank you :j
I have been inspired by a visit to a friend, who has a small garden and a small allotment and he has offered to send me a list of easy crops to start me off.
He has very green fingers and has chickens in his garden as well. I hope I can learn to be half as good as him!0
