    Riverside retail park,next to the Mersey bridge crossing,it's free,don't park on the Homebase part,go a bit further down.Open till around 9 pm.

    Asda is at the back of New Town House. The other car parks mentioned are ok, but if it's raining you will be well annoyed lol.

    In that case Riverside Retail Park at Bridge Foot, as suggested by ukmike, is probably your best bet.
