I need to sell my car and I'd like to have a bash at selling it on ebay. Has anyone got any advice on how to avoid scams etc and the best way to get the money for it? Am I better to take the safety of paypal and just accept that the fees will be astronimcal?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Never paypal...cash on Collection only. You can not prove delivery on a car. However on saying that you want them to pay a decent deposit say £100-£150 via paypal within 24 hours of auction ending and the balance in cash. Or at leat something to cover fees etc.
Selling a car:-
1. Good comprehensive photos, showing any damage you also want to show the interior. To me this is the most important thing. I have bought 2 unseen on the quality of the photos and had the car delivered still unseen.
2. Full details of the condition (does it have FSH etc), don't skimp here, nothing puts me off faster than a two line description. No car is 100% and I want to see that the owner is being truthfull.
4. Ask for and suggest inspection is preffered give a telephone number or ask folk to e-mail for it. I always want to chat to the seller at least to get an indication of whether I trust them.
3. Treat it as you would when selling the car by any other means. Mae sure you get all their details etc and fill in the paperwork and give them a receipt and keep one yourself stating bought as seen.
5. Be realistic on your price if setting a reserve, probably best having an offer from a garage to give yourself a backstop.0
