You'll probably need to gather as much evidence as you can, utilities bills, birth certificates, a photo signed by a doctor, or some other professional saying 'I certifiy that this is a true likeness of....' Phone the company, I'm sure they'll give you a list of alternatives.0

None of what's been mentioned is "electronic proof ".
Are you registered to vote?
edit: just to widen the debate.... if we had compulsory ID cards OP would not have a problem

fwiw, a passport or driving licence, are they electronic ?0

we have just been through the identity mill trying to get various building societies/banks to take our money from our house sale. We moved 10 weeks ago and didn`t have the necessary documents, like utility bills and so on. We could not have done it at all without the passports so I would advise OP to get a passport at least0

Just because you have a passport doesn't mean you have to travel......
Also I am pretty sure and someone correct me if I am wrong but you can get a provisional driving licence without actually having to learn to drive. Get one of them and your have ID till your 70.0 -
I'd just ask them what they would accept.
For the future it might be worth getting a provisional driving license. Never have to use it and although it costs £50 it gives you handy ID that fits in the purse/wallet.0 -
I believe that a provisional licence is widely not accepted as ID.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I have had a provisional drivers license declined as ID before - one time was when banking.
If you're going to invest in an ID, get a passpost which is accepted everywhere0 -
Are there not still come Commissioners of Oaths around?
Used to be a big thing before the digital age and the scourge of ID theft.
Make sure you are on the voters list and that you have your Birth Cert and NI card. + Anything and everything that you think will assist in proving who you say you are. Include a couple of passport like photo's
Pop along and for a fee they will check it all maybe even run it past the voters (which the mortgage provider will do anyway) and when they are satisfied they will issue you a document with your photo on stamped up with an official mark and signature. As these firms are also usually solicitors these carry weight.
Check your bank/mortgage provider will accept this as proof first though.0
