So this is why after opening my account 2 months ago the mupsticks haven't sent my card yet, too busy sending waste of time new cards to existing customers..0

You will leave yourself without a card then if thats what you did. The electron will automatically get cancelled in the next month or so.
Where did you get this from? The electron card is valid until 2012 and Santander say it only stops working when the new debit card is activated.0 -
I got a Santander Visa Debit card to replace my Electron card. In my opinion it looks more like mutton dressed as lamb. Besides, I'm much happier with NatWest where I bank properly now.
Gone from Poor to Excellent Credit. Proud of my recovery. Never going back to the sub prime!
NatWest Select, Advantage Gold, First Reserve & e-ISA account holder. Holding: NatWest Platinum MasterCard, Virgin MasterCard and American Express Gold charge card.0 -
This isn't the correct advice
Once a replacement card is generated, the system will automatically cancel the existing card after a specific period of time - this is different for every bank but will likely be around 4-6 weeks.SaveTheEuro wrote: »Where did you get this from? Keeping electron is not an option, they are winding that product down and customers with cards beginning 4917 31 are being migrated to 4757 14 (Which is the new visa debit number invented specifically for these customers)
If you want an electron Halifax is your best bet.
I'm pleased to say my electron card did not get cancelled automatically. It's still working many weeks later.0 -

A few months ago I got a red one through the post with a Cirrus on the back and cash card on the front. No explanation about what it's replacing, kept my old A&L one and it still works.Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -

Maybe they were trying to bribe you to stay by giving you instant access to someone else's savings accountDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

I've discovered their bribes normally end up costing me in time, effort and money.Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -
My Electron card still works 4 months after getting a replacement "Visa Debit"... just did a payment with it!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
