....that when they have a shampoo and condition at the hairdressers they never rinse your hair properly?
The shampooist damps my hair, lathers in the shampoo ONLY rinses for a few seconds, repeats this, conditions, AGAIN only spending a few seconds rinsing.
Now I have exremely thick hair and it makes me so cross to have all the residue left in my hair. I have been to many salons and they are all the same! I have on occassions asked the shampooist to rinse my hair properly but this is usually met with a rolling of eyes and stroppy attitude.
Admittedly I am a little OCD with my own hair washing process but surely no one rinses their hair for only a few seconds and leaves residue do they?

From what I can recall (Aunty is a hairdresser) you aren't meant to rise it all off. Leaving some conditioner in the hair helps protect it while styling. Also that whole rinse-repeat thing is a bit rubbish, just a ploy to get you to use more product.
That said, you are paying for the service so should be able to get what you like

I have very long, very thick hair and never had this trouble with the last 4 hairdressers I've used (no loyalty me - go where the offers are
)so must just be where you go!

Nope, I have thick curly hair too and have never had this issue, in fact i find they wash my hair a lot better than I can myself.

Yes but surely you are supposed to rinse all the shampoo off. My hair actually feels sticky and "weighed down" when I leave the hairdressers. Soon as I get home I wash it properly. I would have a dry cut but most hairdressers don't like to do that.0 -

Oh I see, well yeah, that just sounds like someone is being lazy. Can I ask is this one of them style over substance place? I find the smaller, stylist owned places do a much better job .0 -
This happens to me too and it's so annoying.
I went to the hairdressers last Friday, when she washed out the colour she even made a point of shampooing right into the nape of the neck and then didn't bother rinsing it out properly .
I told her go over it again otherwise I would be scratching like I had nits :rotfl:, I wouldn't mind but the salon wasn't even busy at the time. I did get a nice scalp massage though which was nice and relaxing.0 -

Well its a mixture of both really, been going to my current hairdresser for about a 10 months now, and I have never been happy with how they wash my hair but the cut is quite good. However, I am going to try another salon next week. Usually change salons every six months or so.0 -

Yes it is annoying, but I am not always brave enough to tell them to rinse it properly, I know its pathetic but I think they may end up giving me a rubbish haircut if I am too pushy. The stupid thing is I always give a good tip too!0 -
I always need to wash my hair after going to the salon, because otherwise I get a really itchy scalp. I just thought they didn't rinse well just to annoy you...0

I tell 'em, and make them do it again till I'm happy.
I'm not popular with the juniors, I'd imagine, but as they never get anwhere near me with the scissors, I don't worry too much!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0
