I have just under £2000 worth of debt.
with natwest, halifax, littlewoods store card, capital one.
I have been paying of my debts using Debtline.org - i thought they had it all sorted out, but recently after paying them £120 (£30 of which they keep for fees) for the last 6 months have realised that they are no good.
Which debt service should i be using?
I have consalidated all my debts & want to pay them off monthly.
.....someone please point me in the right direction!

Hi
Welcome to the board. There will be more knowledgeable people then me along shortly; but people on here will advise you NOT to use any debt service where you have to pay.
First thing to do would be post an soa on here showing all incomings and outgoings and all debts incl APR's then we can give advice where you can possibly make cutbacks to pay debts off quicker and also which debts to tackle firstMFW 2025 #50: £1989.73/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00

So.
Its not best to use a service where i put all my debts into one? And pay them off like that? its best if i pay them off little by little myself?0 -
Use any of the ones in my signature... they are the free debt charities who will be able to help and they don't charge you

Ok I think you need to get the basics straight - consolidation is where you take out a loan to pay your other debts and then owe ONE company the money and the rest are paid off with the new loan. What you have by the sounds of it is a DMP plan - Debt Management Plan. That means you have someone (although you can do this yourself) manage a repayment plan for you when you can't meet the minimum repayments anymore. Your credit rating gets mullered as you default on all the debts and that will stay there for 6 years... Even if you pay them off although they will count for less then.
So... you have 2 "good" choices - manage your own repayment plan and communicate with your creditors yourself (by letter!) or get a non-fee charity to help you and to act as a go between - you make ONE payment instead of lots of small payments and they manage the onwards payment to your creditors.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! yes, that is what i have. A DMP! - Sorry i am only 21 and have little financial understanding. I was young and stood and regret my debts. I just want to pay them off, and not have to worry about them. I have landed myself a good career and i want to not have this HUGE debt cloud hanging over my head.
I've tried contacting National Debt helpline on numerous occasions but have no had luck getting through. I dont have the time or understanding to sort out and pay my debts off myself.
Yet i've been browsing the internet for companies to use to help me, and keep hitting a brick wall......0 -
non fee charity? i can't find any.....anywhere.....0

Ok I'm gonna have to comment on that... because unless you get your head round fixing your messes then you will be back here in a few years and there will be another 0 on the end of that debt because you won't have learnt anything!
We can help you with the understanding, there are loads of people here who will help you with any questions and concerns, but you HAVE to realise that you need to MAKE the time to deal with this.
You ran up the debts - if you want to avoid that in future then take the help offered here or by CCCS etc and deal with it properly - not by paying money you don't have to a company to make the problem "go away" from your immediate view...
Don't mean to be harsh - but truly... if you don't get your head round this you'll be back here far too soon with problems far worse! And that's the voice of experience earnt the hard way speaking!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
