Can I lay Laminate on Cloud 9 Underlay?

Our small entrance hallway, is currently carpeted beige and when it snows or rains, it get quite filthy. We are considering laminate flooring in this area, and then putting a barrier mat down.
The carpet has nearly new cloud 9 underlay beneath it, and I was wondering if I would need to replace this with the laminate underlay or will cloud 9 offer similar if not better properties as an underlay to laminate?

NO. Cloud 9 is far too springy. Laminate floor underlay is not springy. You will find you get movement in the floor if you use carpet underlay.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Under no circumstances can you use Cloud 9 or any other carpet underlay for a laminate floor.
Nope - don't do it.
Especially as laminate underlay is so cheap.
Even if someone were to actually do it - Cloud9 is probably the worst choice, you MAY get away with a rubber crumb underlay for a while, but the softer the under the worse it would be for a laminate - and Cloud 9 is very soft. The cheapest nastiest laminate underlay will not only be better, but will actually do the the job, whereas a carpet underlay will lead to cracking of the joints in very short order
Don't do itUnless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0
