PCN from A A Hutton, should I be concerned

OK, first off, I've read most of the PCN information on this forum and others so I think I'm fairly well up on the recommendations, but it's starting to get ridiculous.
Background: Some time back I overstayed my welcome at an ASDA car park, and received a 'ticket' from Town and City Parking. It should be noted that from where I parked in the car park there were no visible parking restrictions posted, you have to go right round the car park to find them (not that it has any actual relevance AFAIK).
Anyway, I duly ignored the ticket, and the couple of letters about the PCN from A A Hutton that arrived in the following months.
Then, around late July early August the letters became very frequent, by which I mean the same identical letter *at least 1 a day, every single day* (excluding weekends). So that's roughly 7 weeks now, so 35+ letters.
Then today I came home from work to find a message on my answering machine from A A Hutton requesting that I call them back. Obviously I'm not about to do that.
From pretty much every forum post I've read on the subject these companies usually give up, but this seems to be getting silly. A reasonable estimate suggests that they've spent around half of the £70 they're trying to get out of me just trying to get me to pay up.
I may just be being overly sensitive, but I need reassurance that I'm taking the right course of action by just completely ignoring them.
Help?!?

Don't worry they've been hassling me too....since feb to be precise!. Listen to all the advice given on all the other posts and continue to ignore them!. They can be done for harrassment if it doesn't stop!. I can't remember which posting it is but there is a very amusing log of telephone conversations someone has had with a debt collecting agency which if you can find will definately make you smile.
And remember, don't worry you are not alone!0 -
Thanks Jenny. I think I have read the posting you're talking about and it did make me giggle.0

I know it must be annoying but it is also very funny. Think of all the money they are wasting sending you all these letters. :rotfl:They have to be the biggest bunch of muppets I have ever heard of.

Personally I think that amount of letters is hilarious for a trumped-up non-existent debt.
Don't call them of course, but when the sad idiots phone up, I would ask AA Hutton if they realise just how many letters they've sent you - make them guess! Then sternly inform them of the true figure and merely but coldly ask if they had some sort of computer glitch or do they have a death-wish to go to Court on a charge of harassment?!

Finally, tell them 'needless to say the alleged debt is denied' so they are expressly forbidden to harass you again and must not contact you in any form. Tell them to send the file back to the originator since the debt is denied.
(Or play musak at them, leave them dangling on the phone for half an hour, sing at them, rave like a mad person about Big Brother - whatever floats your boat).

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have a read of http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=54693 , I think in your circumstances id be tempted to sue them for harassment
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
If this scum had a legal leg to stand on they would have taken action. I do think you have a case to complain of harassment.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Yeah, I was always fairly confident that no court action would occur, especially as each and every letter has included "unless you contact this office by return we may have no alternative but to proceed with legal action against you without further notice." When you tell me that every day for 7 weeks it tends to lose all meaning. They also include "NO FURTHER INTIMATION WILL BE GIVEN AND YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR ANY COURT EXPENSES INCURRED", (caps theirs). The use of 'intimation' seems just odd.
It's the fact that they've managed to get my number (not too hard I admit, I have an unusual surname and I'm in the phone book) and they're obviously going to start calling me often. Pity that they'll probably phone during the day so I may never get to phone prank them.0
