Advice re Asda Direct

I purchased a king size divan bed and a matress from Asda Direct.

I recieved confirmation of my order and waited. Eventually the status on the website changed from "Placed" to "Fully Dispatched" for the king size divan bed. I had heard nothing about a delivery and so called customer services to see what was what. They couldn't help me and promised to call back when they could. They didn't.

A few days later a man turns up with one half of the king size divan, which is amusingly and clearly labeled as "1 of 2". When asked were "2 of 2" was, he shrugged, said he didn't know anything about it, hopped in his delivery van and left. He did not leave a delivery note, just half a bed.

I called customer services, they knew nothing, but would email the supplier and call me within 24 hours. The next day, they didn't call back so I called them. Apparently the manager who contacted the supplier wasn't in and so another manager would have to contact the supplier and call me back within 24 hours. The next day, they didn't call me back, so I called them. I was told someone else would have to contact the supplier and call me back. At that point I requested the order be cancelled and that I wished to arrange collection of my half a bed. He gave me a returns number and I have heard nowt else for 4 days.

Asda direct does not have an email address or physical address for me to return the half a bed to, so I'm a stuck with this blasted thing taking up oodles of room in my hallway until Asda decide to let me know how to return the item.

Choccie biscuits if you have got this far.

My questions are:
What happends if I am stuck with this bed and cannot return it? Can I bin it? Can I invoice them for storage of their goods (and if so whats the going rate?)
How long before I start pushing for a refund?

To complicate things, I'm about to go on holiday for three weeks very soon, and then we'll be at Christmas and I have visions of this half a bed being with us for a long time to come.

Thanks in advance x
