Extended Car Warranty
Hello
Forgive me this is my first post. Im brought a car from Autoquake and Im going to pick it up this Friday. I declined their extended warranty but I would like to get a 3 year extended warranty
Warranty Direct seems a bit pricey but they phoned me and offered a reduced price for a one year. Any experiences with these lot?
There is Click4 Warranty they seem cheaper and offer a vehicle inspection which is useful. But I cant find any reviews of this provider.
Im tempted by Click4 Warranty as I can get my car inspected to check to see if I been sold a lemon.
Is there any other decent car warranty providers?

anyone got any advice?
I thought someone off here might be able to point me in the right direction0 -
Hi
You do not say how old the car is, make, model etc?
I use Warranty Direct for my 7 year old Merc C-class (had it for 4 years) and have had an annual policy for the last 3 years.
I only do very low mileage but on the last service (18 months ago) the MB dealership spotted a broblem with something on the front suspension.
I mentioned the warranty and they contacted WD for me who agreed to half the cost (the suspension parts are replaced in pairs but obviously only one was actually faulty). Saved me around 200 pounds, I think.
Okay, with the warranty costing about £400, I could have saved money but like all insurances, it depends on your risk appetite?
I intend either not bothering this year or at least, like you, shopping around.
No doubt others on this forum may say that warranties are not worth it but like I say, depends on the chance of needing it, how many miles you will be doing etc.
If the car is fairly new, may be worth checking what is available from the manufacturer.
Good luck.0 -
Apologies its a MK6 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi with 46k on the clock
I'll be doing about 6000 - 8000 miles per year.
To be honest im looking for peace of mind my last car cost me loads in repairs. (faulty injector seals and head gasket failures etc)
But im looking for a warranty provider that doesnt look for ways not to pay out
I will give ford a ring to see if they can offer anything
Im tempted by Click4 Warranty thou. I will ring them to see what they offer0 -

I think they all do that to varying degrees. I've had bad experiences with Warranty Direct in that respect... although to read the advertising bumph you would think that the sun shone out of their exhaust pipe.
If I were to buy an extended warranty I would be looking for a firm that covered all mechanical and electrical parts rather than only the parts specifically included on a list that they have drawn up.0 -
The reason I turned it down because it doesnt cover for wear and tear. Or im I mis-informed? And is this a red herring?
However are you suggesting I go for it anyway?
The reason Ive asked is im looking for a warranty that wont make me jump through hoops to make a claim. Or make excues not to pay out.
Im happy to take their warranty if its actually any good?
Does anyone else have experience of taking out a warranty backed back Car Care Plan?0 -
Now you got me tempted
600 quid for three years seem reasonable
hypercarleasing: Do you work for Car Care? lol
You have made some valid points as I forgot it came with the breakdown cover as well0 -
Have had a warranty direct policy for 2 years on one of our cars. Bought it at auction as a 3 year old fleet car and decided £250 was worth it for peace of mind.
Air con compressor went and £900 bill for that they settled so for me its been worth it.
Only issues I have had is that there network is make up of nationals like nationwide and they are really poor. You can upgrade for about 20% to franchised dealers and I did this when I renewed.
Had a diagnostics done at last service as car was stalling in neutral and Lamba sensor needed replacing, again they paid out for it.
Its a fair point made by many that if you stuck your money in the bank and then got any repairs done by a decent independent you would be quids in most of the time. However if its your first year of ownership and not sure of the cars reliability until you have driven it for a good few months then its worth doing.0 -
Now im really confused what to do.
