in internet explorer click on tools, look for internet options then you will have a space with a window called home page, you could write googles webpage in there or alternatively, already be on google and then select the option to use current page click on apply to set your choice

Install Google Toolbar - http://toolbar.google.com/0

the only way you can do that is through internet explorer version seven beta
that lets you set several search engines. there are software applications such as hijack this that will let you change the default search engine, or autopatcher, the easiest way is just to change the home page but hijack this will let you change the operating system default search engine from msn to google. or you could try internet explorer seven beta, which I am currently using there is a tab that lets you change the default msn search to several

start, run regedit
goto
hklm\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main
and
hkcu\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main
you will see your current search setting on the right, double click and change it.
Be careful not to delete anything.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
By default there is no such thing default search engine in IE 6. If you are using beta version of IE = 7 . Then you can just left click in that little area and it should show other alternatives that you can choose are default search engine. If you are using a toolbar as the previous poster mentioned then it should default to the google only if you are using google toolbar.0
