Your ex isn't liable for the whole of the overdraft. Its a joint account, therefore you are both liable.
You could have informed the company too late for them to change the account details. I would double check if its changed, if it has then the next payment should go into the new account. However I don't think it is possible to get your money back.0 -
Have you actually tried to cotnact the company and explain situation re frozen account? write to them (would be wise to keep record of this) and include a copy of their email and see what they say?0

Need to clear something up, you say it fell to your husband to repay the overdraft and the account is frozen. From this I am not sure if you mean the account remained in joint names and he undertook to pay it, or if you mean your name was removed and it is now in his name only.
If the latter is the case then it is simply money being paid into the wrong account. It doesn't matter who the money went to its an error and the bank should help to sort it out.
If however the reference to the account being frozen means it is a joint account and its 'frozen' because the two account holders couldn't reach agreement (a third party dispute) then you are both jointly and severally liable for the balance ie you can both be pursued for the full amount. If this is the case I do not believe there is any way to compel the bank to refund the money.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0
