Hi,
I am new to this site but wondered if anyone would be kind enough to help me.
I am registered disabled, I live with my husband and two children, we rent our home. At present we rely on benefits and my husband is my carer full time however at times it all gets a bit too much for my husband and he needs time away.
His friend has offered him 10 hours work a week, just cleaning, £6 an hour, 2 hours a day so not a lot but enough for my husband to feel more than just a carer if you see what I mean. After a lot of discussions he would like to accept and his friend understands that he may not be the most reliable employee if and when I need him but all that is fine and I am hoping it does me as much good as it does him, I will get some independance back hopefully but we'll see.
My main concern is who I need to inform and what we will loose benefit wise, I would hate to be commiting fraud so the sooner I can inform people the better and my husband can then start his new job.
We claim income support, DLA (HC/LM) housing and council tax benefit and carers allowance (my husband)
If you can help it would be greatly appreciated, fingers crossed it goes well and he may be able to go to work full time in the not to distant future :j

You need to inform IS, HB and CTB.
At the moment he won't be over the threshold for it to affect CA you need to inform them when you earn £100 pw*SIGH*
