Item not as described

Recently bought an item, was described as used a few times, messages received said was in great condition, it arrived smashed to pieces in all honesty, more damage than good parts. Paid good money for it believing was a good item. Being squashed into a box it didn't fit in properly probably hasn't helped. I have contacted the seller but no response so far, I paid via paypal. What do you think the best plan of action would be ? (not a happy bunny)
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hi, Go through paypal, do a chargeback and say item wasn't as described, this will make your seller wake up!! follow the paypal procedures and you should be ok, Think you will need to do through ebay 'item not received' avenue... but check it out first.
or...... you could pull their details and give them a call...
Good Luck and let us know how you get on!

They actually have a shop aswell, so might be worth calling. I tried the item not as described but said it was too early after transaction to do so. I have no idea how to start a charge back but I shall have a look tomorrow.
Downside is I have an unblemished 280 positive feedback and don't want that being tarnished because I ended up with a shoddy item.
Thanks Angel

sorry for my obvious answers!! I didn't look at your post count nor asked bout feedback and you are not a newbie so you probably knew to do what I said!!
......Just be really really polite with them until you get your positive feedback, if you feel like shouting contact them later!! remember they won't wanna tarnish their record either!! - whats theirs like

97.9% positive with well over 1000 sales. I have already sent a question stating received item and the damage evident on immediate inspection, asking what they could do about it. They haven't responded to this in 5 days so I have copied it and emailed it to the address paypal payment went to.One day I might be more organised...........

Their feedback is poor and you may just have found the reason why! Other than that I concur with Angel.

Yes I know what you mean Soo, unfortunately it was a purchase for another member of the family and I didn't check the feedback myself. I did pay via paypal just incase. I haveemailed with no response again so unfortunately seems like I will have to go down the Item not Described/Paypal route. Damn !! First time I have been unhappy with an ebay purchase so never had to do this before, and have bought more than I have been left feedback for.One day I might be more organised...........

Well ended up having to make a dispute on eBay/Paypal after they ignored a message a day and several emails. The seller (in a very rude manner) agreed to refund so I have returned it via Special Delivery and should have arrived before 1pm today. I have tried checking this but says wait 72 hours for updated info on todays drop offs. Wonder how long it'll take to get the refund. One day I might be more organised...........
