Potatoes in compost bin

Hi,

Yesterday I was turning my compost bin and came across a massive ton of potatoes! Some big enough to be used as jackets! Can they be eaten? Or will it make you ill if you eat them?

    If they have grown in there I'd give them a go but if you have chucked them in yourself thats a different matter entirely.

    Just give them a good old wash and see how they look.

    They look as good as they don't even need a wash :-o My husband was shocked and said they look like I have brought them from the supermarket!

    Think they origionated from peelings I had put in or something.

    It can definitely happen. They should be fine to eat as long as they aren't damaged or green in any way.
