Hi
We're going to Birmingham this weekend (25th) staying over at the Holiday Inn City Centre 1 night.
I've never been to Birmingham and want to know any nice places to eat out - not too expensive but it is for a birthday meal x 4 people (2 couples) Not too bothered about discount codes, just want some nice places recommending please in the Centre - as we are going to the NIA after to watch Alex Reid Cage fighting (not my idea - the man who's 30th it is!)
I will book a table if places get busy
Thanks
LO x

Would you be at all willing to walk a little out of town? There's some great places to eat in St. Paul's Square and in between there and town, and it's only a 15 minute walk away.
Pasta Di Piazza is a lovely and well priced Italian in St Paul's Square. St Paul's Square is a great place to visit anyway and there are a few nice bars and restaurants dotted around. Some are really expensive imo and so I've never been in there, but Pasta Di Piazza is fantastic for what you pay.
There's also Lasan, an Indian restaurant which is a bit pricier. Perfectly acceptable if you're celebrating someone's birthday though! Nearer town (walking from Snow Hill station area) there is also Itihas, but service is so fast you're never in there terribly long which I'm not too keen on. It is a very special looking place though.
For a cheaper curry Milan is even nearer to town and is very well priced, but maybe not special enough for a birthday meal. You can usually just walk in and get a table however, so it's worth a think about.
If you will be sticking strictly to town check out Brindley Place as there are lots of restaurants to choose from. There are a fair few in Broad Street too but I tend to avoid them as Broad Street can get quite rough on a Friday/Saturday night.
If you do go to any of the above restaurants keep in mind that the canal is very close (just behind Itihas, you can cut through) and you can simply walk down the canal and reach the NIA that way. Keeping that in mind those restaurants are probably closer than restaurants in town0
