Can anybody tell me if there are differant places in Salou for live entertainment bars or hotels, tribute bands etc?

There are quite a few bar/cafes around the tow aimed at tourists from the UK. Most offer a mixture of children’s entertainment & Housy Housy (bingo) in the earlier evening followed by live music/tribute acts later at night. After half an hour walking around the town centre and as well as seeing the venues yourself, you will have been handed dozens of leaflets from the venues touts.
My favourite 'entertainment' venue in Salou is House Of Illusion: http://www.houseofillusion.net/home.html. It's the typical all the cheap alcohol/soft drink you can consume evening but that aside, the show itself is outstanding and well worth the money.0
