    Dont knock it until youve tried it, ive managed to get lots of things removed off pans that way, ive just never made chutney before, so couldnt vouch for that!!!!!

    Someone posted recently about rescuing their pans with fairy power spray. Hope this helps.

  • try boiling some cola in it....was on 'how clean is your house' once....tried it once & pan came up nice & clean!!

    You could always try the totally free ecological method. Leave the pan all day full of water and then in in the evening tip the water out and put the pan on its side outside. Slugs and snail will spend the night licking and feasting - it should be wonderfully clean by morning. Probably best to wash it up before using it for cooking again.
